The story of our farm

Tambuzi was founded in the mid-1990s by Tim and Maggie Hobbs, who transformed a dairy and beef farm on the foothills of Mount Kenya into a specialist grower of traditional scented garden roses.

More than twenty years on, our family farm sits right on the equator, where rich volcanic soil, clean water and high-altitude sunshine give our roses their extraordinary fragrance and form. From the very beginning we've cared as much about the beauty and scent of a rose as its vase life — and about the people and place that grow it.

The Rose Anthology

Our scented varieties read like a collection of characters — Juliet, Princess Charlene, Cream Yves Piaget, Caffe Latte, White O'Hara and Pavlova among them, many carrying the celebrated genetics of David Austin. Each box is filled with whichever of these blooms are at their most beautiful the day we cut.
